SWOT Analysis

Joining the Royal Marines entails several opportunities and challenges. However, in my situation, I believe I have numerous strengths for the role. I already have over 76 UCAS points, which allows me to join the forces as an officer, starting at a better wage band (32,000 per year), and giving me more opportunities to advance my career. I've also wanted to join the Royal Marines for almost 8 years. I've researched the profession countless times to find out what regiment and role best matches me. I'm aware of what I'll be up against when I attend CTCRM Lympstone, and I've developed the mental fortitude to not back down.

Finally, the Royal Marines provide a broad and steady career that rewards personnel for their accomplishments and experience.
Despite these skills, I still have certain shortcomings, such as bad eyesight. I can still join the Royal Marines, but I will obviously be at a disadvantage during my career; however, this can be remedied by acquiring contact lenses or surgery.
One huge advantage I have is that I have been going to the gym for the past year in order to bulk up for the Marines. Before I started going to the gym, I weighed 47 and 1/2 kilos; after a year, I now weigh 63 kilos.

However, I have a very fast working metabolism, which makes it difficult for me to gain weight because if I don't eat enough in one day (3560 Calories), it will stunt my progress to gain weight, which means I have to spend a lot of money on foods high in clean calories, not fast food, in order to efficiently gain weight.
